Order Buzzer · £9.99 / month add-on

The pager they already carry

The Order Buzzer sends “your order is ready” straight to your customer’s own phone the moment your team taps the button. No coaster pagers to buy, charge, chase down or fish out of the sink.

How it works

One extra tap in a workflow you already have

The Order Buzzer is built on top of the scan your staff do anyway. It is not a second app, a second screen or a second thing to remember.

  1. 1 qr_code_scanner

    Scan, as you already do

Staff scan the customer’s QR code for their stamps or points at the till. That scan is the order — there is no second system to log into.

  2. 2 pin

    Type the till number once

One tap on the scan result, type the receipt number, done. The order is tied to a real customer and a real location automatically, with no lookup.

  3. 3 notifications_active

One tap when it is ready

“Order #47 is ready.” It lands on the phone in their pocket in seconds, at high priority, so nobody has to shout a number across a full room.

  4. 4 directions_walk

    They tap “on my way”

The acknowledgement shows on your side, and no further notifications are sent for that order — you are not pinging someone who is already walking to the counter.

The lifecycle is deliberately tiny: preparing → ready → collected. There is nothing else for your staff to learn.

Versus hardware

A set of ten coaster pagers typically costs $160–275

And that is before the ones that go home in a coat pocket.

Coaster pagers

  • close $160–275 up front for a set of ten
  • close A charging base on the counter, permanently
  • close They get lost, they get stolen, they get dropped in the sink
  • close Replacing the set is a capital decision all over again
  • close Tells you nothing about who was standing there

  • check £9.99 a month, nothing to buy
  • check Runs on the device in the customer’s pocket
  • check Nothing to hand out, chase or take back
  • check Every order is attached to a real, identified customer
  • check Comes with the loyalty programme that brought them in

The scan that logs the order is the same scan that gives them their stamp. One interaction, two jobs.

The fine print, in your favour

Built for a counter on a Saturday

Every one of these exists because a busy counter breaks the naive version of this feature.

bedtime_off

Quiet hours never hold it back

“Your order is ready” is operational, not marketing. It bypasses the quiet-hours window that holds back promotional notifications, and goes out with a high-priority flag so a sleeping phone still wakes.

timer

Re-buzz, without spamming

Nobody at the counter after a couple of minutes? Buzz again. A 30-second throttle stops a frustrated double-tap turning into a stream of alerts, and every buzz is counted so you can see how many times an order was called.

content_copy

Duplicate numbers are a warning, not a wall

Till numbers collide at a busy counter. If the number is already live on another order, staff get a “this one is already active — carry on?” prompt rather than a rejected order.

auto_delete

The list tidies itself

Orders that sit untouched for two hours expire on their own, with a 24-hour hard cap, swept every ten minutes. Any buzz, status change or acknowledgement resets the clock — nothing vanishes mid-service.

lock_clock

One live order per scan

A customer can only have one active order per scan, enforced in the database itself, so two staff tapping at once cannot create a duplicate ticket.

undo

Undo is honest

Put an order back to preparing and the earlier acknowledgement is cleared with it — so when it really is ready, the customer is notified again.

Questions

Before you ask

What do my customers need? add

Nothing new. The Halal Rewards app they already use to collect stamps and points is the pager. There is no separate download, no hardware, and nothing for them to hand back.

How do we turn Order Buzzer on? add

We enable it for you, location by location, as part of getting you set up. It is not a switch buried in your dashboard — tell us which sites want it and we will turn them on.

How does an order get created? add

From the QR scan your staff already perform for loyalty. Staff type the till or receipt number once on the scan result, and the order is logged against that customer and that location. There is no separate order-entry screen to keep in sync with your till.

What if the customer misses the notification? add

Staff can buzz the same order again after 30 seconds, as many times as they need. The order stays live and every buzz is recorded, so you can see which orders needed calling three times.

What happens to orders nobody collects? add

They expire automatically after two hours without any activity, and no order lives longer than 24 hours. Staff do not have to clear the list at the end of a shift.

Will it work across several sites? add

Yes — the Order Buzzer is enabled per location, so you can run it at the takeaway counter and leave it off at the sit-down restaurant.

Is there a contract? add

No. Order Buzzer is £9.99 a month on top of a Starter or Growth plan, and you can cancel any time. Add Bookings as well and the two together are £14.99.
